With a passion for design, handbags and quality products, Sam gives us a great insight into her favourite lots from the single owner collection of Louis Vuitton lots featured in our 30 April Design sale.

A Louis Vuitton monogrammed canvas wardrobe trunk (£8,000-12,000)
My favourite of all the lots is the oldest in the collection. What I love about this piece is the progressive narrative of the brand and the entrepreneurial spirit through the generations. This piece is a wonderful example of the second generation LV Trunk - Louis Vuitton was the first to develop the flat topped stackable trunk but it was Louis's son, Georges, who introduced the trunk drawers, hanging space and removable case design.

How brilliantly indulgent. This is clearly what you buy the man or woman who has everything - and who loves a bath - or perhaps is better suited to a lucky godchild or grandchild? The quirky eccentric nature and sheer lavishness is forever present in LV and is very much part of the brand's heritage. It was Louis's grandson, Gaston Vuitton, who in 1959 developed the new chemical process to coat this monogrammed canvas with a durable and waterproof layer - what could be better to house a rubber duck!

This is clearly a valuable piece of social history and no longer available from LV - the actual cardboard tissue box was designed in 1924 but it was not until the 1960/70s that the protective tissue box holder became a vanity staple continuing with the luxurious spirit of LV. I love it! This vintage decade is becoming increasingly popular.

The sheer attention to detail and practicality leaves no stone unturned - this little piece remains perfectly practical and popular for today’s consumer. The iconic LV lock (still used in designs today) was first invented in 1875 and George Vuitton also introduced the legendary intertwined LV and flower patterned canvas in 1896 to prevent counterfeiting - how little times have changed!

This is a great example of the LV canvas watch trunk - could any watch collector possibly wish for more? This investment piece epitomises the brand's near 150 year heritage of designing opulence with authority and confidence. The forerunner in luxury luggage, this piece is hard to beat.

To those who know him, Eddie is a force of nature, a man whose drive, imagination and vision have led the Surrey-based park to become the fantastical wonderland that it is today, and it was clear from the outset that he would be applying this trademark enthusiasm to the creation of this sale.
