An 18ct gold lapis lazuli and diamond ring, attributed to John Donald,
the head of the ring formed from a lapis lazuli bead with an applied gold moon, representing the midnight sky, that revolves to reveal a white gold pavé diamond set day. A flat gold bezel, hand engraved to read 'Night and Day You Are The One', to a pierced molten effect collet, shoulders and shank, London 1979. Interior support shank later fitted.
Commissioned as a gift for his wife, by a personal friend of John Donald, and believed to be one of John Donald's favourite designs. The ring also appears on page 186 of John Donald’s book ‘Precious Statements’ (published 2015).
