Untitled
signed and dated 'Ethan Cook 2014' verso, cotton canvas
202 x 152cm
Ethan Cook is known for his unique approach to abstract and process art. Based in Brooklyn, New York, he creates large-scale, colourblock canvases that could give the impression of paintings, but are, in fact, composed entirely of woven fabric. Cook partially hand-weaves sections of these canvases, integrating them into compositions of unmodulated colour blocks. His pieces often explore themes of minimalism, geometry, and the interplay of colour.
