A 'Fußball-Match' game,
mid-20th century and later, German, designed by Oskar Seipel, with a beech frame and a glass top,
127cm wide
56cm deep
102cm high

Created in 1953 by Oskar Seipel who owned Glerios, Seipel & Co. in Stuttgart, Germany, this mechanical game was made a year before West Germany led their team to a first World Cup victory in 1954. Offering a different take on other table football games, rotary knobs at either end of the table control the goalie, the players and the kicking of the ball.

Condition Report

Repair and restoration. Blue team mechanism does not appear to function perfectly, with two defenders not moving. General knocks and wear to case and frame. Light surface wear to glass. Minor traces of historic woodworm damage. Joints tight and solid. Some chips, knocks and losses. Some scuffs to playing surface. Losses and wear to players. Bent and misshapen areas. Appears in fair restored condition.
