A fine pair of Chinese export famille rose hounds

Qianlong (1736-1795), c.1760, each figure seated on its haunches, its head held high, decorated in iron-red with a collar in green, with 'Santos London, 3661' labels,
17 and 17.5cm high (2)

Provenance: From the personal collection of Alberto Santos.

Alberto has been a prominent dealer in Chinese porcelain for over forty-five years, with a particular interest in export wares from the 16th to the 19th centuries. His wealth of knowledge has led to him collaborating with an international team in compiling the definitive work on Chinese porcelain ordered by the Portuguese market, of which four of five volumes have already been published.

Alberto Santos

Items of from the personal collection of renowned dealer Alberto Santos - all fit for the Royal collection – are included in our 8 November Asian art auction. Alberto has been dealing in Chinese porcelain since 1979 and – while his stock covers the full range of Chinese porcelain of the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties – he has a particular fondness for export wares from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
