Condition Report

Framed: 119 x 99.5cm
The painting is executed in oil on a canvas support which appears to be lined. Mould has formed on the reverse of the canvas. The canvas tension is good and the picture is in plane. The paint layers are in a very good condition overall. Cracks have formed in the picture but these are stable and not visually disturbing. There is a small area of damage to the paint layers in the centre of the sky, this area has been retouched and there are a few other localised areas of overpaint which is well matched to the original. A thin varnish layer is present but the surface of the painting is matte in appearance, reflecting the aesthetic of the artist.
