01279 817778Guy joined Tayler and Fletcher in Stow on the Wold, after completing his A levels, working in the agricultural department, which included assisting at many prestigious Cotswold Country House contents sales, which were always held in a marquee in the grounds of the house in question. Hairy stories from these days are available upon request.
He then moved to Herefordshire, where he met his wife and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor, then to East Yorkshire where he established and ran art and antique auctions, before moving to Sworders in 1986........before most of our current staff were born!
In those days the auction room employed Guy, a secretary and a part-time Porter, it was not even the most successful auction room in Bishops Stortford. Developing the business into what it has become today has been the great task and joy of his working life.
