In 2015 he chose to leave the rolling Cotswold hills, moving cross country to the flatter lands of East Anglia to take up a position with Sworders. After running the Homes and Interiors sales for three years, he stepped up to take the reins of our Fine Interiors department. James has overseen the transformation of this quarterly flagship sale, developing and shaping it into a curated, interior design led operation that aims to prove that traditional furniture can work alongside decorative pieces and quality soft furnishings in timeless beautiful homes.
James believes presentation is everything and takes pride in producing industry-leading catalogues designed to show lots to their best advantage. He has a passion for the presentation of full house contents and private collections, and aims to capture the personality of each collection, the houses they come from and the owners behind them. He and his team continue to work hard to bring these sales to the forefront of new audiences through the power of social media and are constantly looking for ways to innovate and improve.
