Matthew Yeats is the Head of Design at Sworders, joining in February 2025.
Matthew previously worked as a Design specialist in the central London office of a prominent auction house, and prior to that for an established furniture and decorative arts gallery in Mayfair.
With a particular interest in studio ceramics and the emergence of the contemporary crafts movement, he is committed to building on the department’s successes and expanding the reach of its sales. He is passionate about supporting clients with their collections with care and precision - ensuring that works achieve the best price and are acquired by thoughtful collectors.
Matthew is fluent in French and studied History of Art at the University of Edinburgh and École du Louvre in Paris. Alongside his role at Sworders, he is also a doctoral candidate at the University of St Andrews, where his research focuses on the multidisciplinary oeuvre of French artists in the 19th and 20th centuries that transcend fine art, literature, and crafts.
